Steve is a Creative Director's Producer. His twenty years of experience beginning with the BBC and working his way through lighting cameraman to director and ultimately producer means that he brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record. His CV reads like an A to Z of British TV advertisers and his contact book is a veritable who's who of UK TV and Radio production. Steve believes that the key to good producing is accurate creative interpretation married to effective insightful project management. It's a combination which maximises the budget to deliver above expectation results. When he isn't on location or ensconced in an edit suite he unwinds at home in rural England with his wife, 3 children and two cats and spurious collection of four wheeled vehicles. Unusually for a North Easterner, Steve knows little about football, but he still manages to wind Phil up by trying to pretend he knows what he's talking about…
Phil started his career working for Reg Vardy at their in-house advertising agency. After 3 years he joined Robson Brown as an Account Manager, soon working his way through the ranks to become a Group Account Director managing the retail arm of the business working with brands such as Dreams, Metrocentre, Manchester Arndale, Storey Carpets, Collectables, NUFC, The Evening Chronicle & Journal and Crown Bingo. He is a stickler for detail resulting in excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, coupled with a drive and determination to do well. Phil prides himself on openness and integrity and works by the mantra 'client is king'. In his private life Phil is a dedicated husband & Dad to Leann, Jacob & Elizabeth. He's also a highly opinionated armchair football fan, who doesn't seem to know where St James' Park is, unlike Alex… He can also be spotted in The Travellers Rest in Sunniside, between the hours of 5-8pm on a Saturday, Dad-drinking...
Alex worked with both Phil and Steve at Robson Brown. Working within the retail team he helped produce TV campaigns for Dreams, Storey Carpets, Manchester Arndale, Metrocentre and more recently helped run the Bellway Homes account. He joined re:production in April last year, much to the surprise of friends and family after having finally managed to get rid of Phil! Alex is a calm head in what can often be an extremely busy office, working on every production within the company. Alex is now happily married and content. He's piling on the pounds but is comfortable with himself. He's just bought himself a DSLR and is often spotted along the banks of the Tyne taking pictures of bridges.
Donna’s been a key part of the re:production team since September 2011 and during that time she’s worked on a wide variety of projects from beds to cars, trainers to shopping centres, furniture to ferries. Donna knows every single part of the production process inside out and is seemingly unflappable with unlimited patience. In the storm of production and post-production, she is an oasis of calm efficiency and high organisation, completing casting sessions and call sheets, supervising shoots and edits and making sure the re:production machine runs smoothly. TV, Radio, VoD, Online… Donna has produced for all of them and more. Away from the office, she is our festival queen and loves a good DVD boxset. Every production company needs a Donna!
Rich is our go-to man. He can shoot, he can operate, he can edit, he can direct, he can do graphics and if pushed, he can make a decent cuppa. He can't, however, get up in the morning and is usually grumpy till well past lunch time. Having originally worked as a freelancer, we started employing Rich soon after re:production set up. However, having immediately been impressed with his attitude, skill, client manner and ability to do literally everything, we soon snapped him up. Shame really, as he would always invoice us at least 4 months late as a freelancer...
We initially came across Lewis after he won a competition at Sunderland University and the top prize was one week work experience at re:production. Being the busy office that it is he was immediately handed a set of rushes and told to edit, and edit sharpish. 2 days later we had a set of lovely ads, presented to the client who loved them and he was hired! 3 years on and he is now directing his own ads. His eye for a shot and ability to make everything beautiful ensures clients are asking for him time and time again.
Michael joined the re:production team at the start of the 2013/14 season on a free transfer from freelance self employment. He's an exciting signing for us, with a great mix of organisational skills, proven post production ability and creative flair gained over 17 years in the Newcastle's creative media environment. He's equally at home in the heat of battle in the edit & graphics suites, managing our post production facilities or dispatching commercials and sponsorship to TV and Radio stations all over the world. In his home life, Michael lives in Hexham with his wife Amy and their young son Ben. He manages to successfully tread the fine line between "normal" and "nerd" with a passion for football and cycling offset by his love of all things Star Wars and a sadly nostalgic devotion to Lego. Even though he's entering his late-30s, Michael still harbours dreams of being spotted and signed by Newcastle United, but until that happens he'll be a key part of the team here.
Billie is our resident newbee. She joined the team fresh from Newcastle College having studied Performing Arts. Initially brought in to help our accountant keep the books in order, she has progressed across the year and we have now moved her over to the production side of the business full time. She will be providing support to our team of producers whilst ultimately learning the ropes on how to become a producer in her own right in the future.
James is our new resident sound guy and chief button pusher in the studio. Having initially joined as a freelance sound engineer he manged to survive the Christmas rush, and passed with flying colours. Working with music and sound production from a young age, James has worked in all aspects of sound production from mixing complex live events to mastering the latest state of the art software in his edit suite, where we keep him locked up now. As well as audio James can turn his hand to video editing and also holds a drone license so he can take pretty pictures of sunsets to compliment Alexs' pictures of bridges. Originally from Bolton, James still hasn't quite mastered the Geordie accent, but that doesn't stop him from trying. His only claim to fame is being the sound/lighting Director for 'Top of The Pops' when it came to Newcastle in 2001 where he met S-Club 7 and Jordan from New Kids On The Block.
Dan is our go-to-guy for all sorts of music and compositions and he's also a rather splendid IT boffin. He's a published musician, and a very talented sound engineer. Give him a music brief and he'll rustle up a track for you. At the last count he had 4 kids and he isn't even 30 years old yet. He used to work for apple, so ask him a fruit/computer based question and you'll be stuck for hours. Dan is the only person I know (including the wife) that when he opens his mouth I know its going to cost me money. (Upgrades, software, hardware, backups, blah blah...)
